Marketing/Business Development Professional

Job Summary
The Business Development position is responsible for Business Development activities defined within the Marketing Plan with the overall goal of generating measurable, viable leads and, ultimately, pre-construction and construction sales opportunities for the Company to pursue in order to meet its revenue goals.

Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing
• Assists the President in developing and managing marketing and business development strategies and, specifically, the formal Marketing Plan and associated marketing budget.
• Assists with the marketing aspects of the Company's formal project-specific proposal and general corporate qualifications submissions (resumes, references, project lists, narratives, letters, etc…).
• Assists in developing Powerpoint presentation(s) targeted toward specific markets for presentation to Prospects and Clients (see Business Development).
• Becomes expert with and manages accurate and timely input of information into the Company��™s client and prospect database. (Sage CRM)
• Provides input regarding target markets to identify trade shows, associations, publications, sponsorships, and other venues to use for marketing purposes.
• Maintains a current list of industry and general publications, and works with team to generate technical articles and press releases to promote corporate visibility and expertise.
• Manage all marketing related activities to promote visibility including but not limited to press releases, ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, special events and construction award entries. Also includes annual client golf tournament and company holiday party.
• Assists with all aspects of select trade shows, including booth upgrades, pre-registration, giveaways, literature, travel plans, and booth staffing.
• Manages the graphic and communications initiatives and branding standards including:
o Project photographs (outsourced or in-house), for use in marketing effort.
o Project Sheets and Qualifications materials
o Website maintenance with a CMS
o Develop and execute a frequent communications plan utilizing a variety of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
o Graphic branding, jobsite signage, advertisements, etc…(knowledge of in-house graphics programs preferable)

Client Management
• Actively seeks and obtains client feedback during and after project to set stage for future opportunities. Reports back to President with feedback and action, if any.
• Manages Client and networking partner “non-business” activities such as golf, sporting events, entertainment events, etc…

Business Development
• Becomes active (committee level or higher) in at least one viable trade association within the Company's target and geographic markets for networking and professional expertise development.
• Attend appropriate / targeted networking events
• Strategically pursues existing relationships for alliances (subcontractors, consultants, A/E��™s) to generate leads and opportunities.
• Attend pre-bid meetings
• Maintains the Company's software database system for client/prospect lead and opportunity tracking.
• Develops and maintains an active list of Prospects within target markets.
• Establishes and builds relationships with Prospects within target markets.
• Actively pursues Prospects to set up initial introduction meetings with President and relevant Operations personnel.

General
• Takes an active role in educating Henley Construction's non-sales personnel on the “sales” aspects of client interface.

Qualifications

• Education
o Four year college degree, preferably in business, marketing or related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Skills
o Excellent communication, organization, time management and analytical skills
o Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategy
o High energy, maturity, and leadership with an entrepreneurial spirit
o Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
o High proficiency in computer use, including MS Office Suite, Powerpoint, Internet.
o Great presentation and planning skills
o Ability to work independently
o Relationship builder, excellent interpersonal and phone skills

• Experience
o Required
 At least 5 years of direct business development experience with meeting measurable goals.
