Justice High School features a modern building with large windows, a brick exterior, and a symmetrical design, all set against a backdrop of partly cloudy skies.

Justice High School

The Justice High School Additions project involved the construction of a 3-story Classroom addition, a single-story Cafeteria expansion and interior alterations, and a courtyard renovation.  The addition of a restroom building for the football stadium and outdoor classroom was built as the prototype for a new standard at multiple schools within Fairfax County.  These alterations feature new mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, each strategically tied into the existing building’s utilities. This seamless integration ensures the new additions harmonize with the existing structure.  Additionally, a 2-story firewall was incorporated within the existing structure.

Our scope extended beyond the buildings, with improvements across the site that directly benefit the community. Sitework entailed relocating the existing gas service, demolishing and removing an underground oil tank and its infrastructure, and installing a new electrical service and transformer. We laid underground utilities, created additional parking spaces, established a new kiss-and-ride area, and enhanced stormwater management with state-of-the-art underground facilities.

Recognizing the importance of continuity, we designed our construction process in phases.  This approach ensured the Owner could maintain partial and continued occupancy of the existing building throughout the project, minimizing disruption to students, teachers, staff, and the community while maximizing progress. The project finished four months ahead of schedule.
