Glen Burnie High School Wall & Window Restoration

The Glen Burnie High School Wall & Window Restoration project encompasses a comprehensive scope of work to rejuvenate the school’s exterior and interior spaces.  In addition to the restoration tasks, our project also included asbestos abatement measures to ensure the safety of all occupants.

Before commencing any restoration work, Henley conducted asbestos abatement procedures per industry standards and regulations to safely remove any hazardous materials, ensuring the well-being of students, staff, and community.  Removal and disposal of existing window systems, including metal flashing and glazing, followed by installation of new aluminum-framed window and storefront systems. Removal and reinstallation of masonry units, as well as provision of wood blocking at windowsills and composite panels at existing soffits to enhance structural integrity and visual appeal.  Provision of sealant and backer materials at masonry joints, and window openings, along with fabrication and installation of counter flashings, sill flashings, closures, cleats, and miscellaneous sheet metal components. Replacement of interior gypsum board as necessary for window replacement, followed by preparation, priming, and painting of entrance doors, storefront framing components, and interior wall and ceiling finishes.

Work was performed in coordination with the school to safely separate construction spaces from students and staff, ensuring safety and minimizing disruptions to daily activities.
