  • DescriptionFor the Wayside Elementary School modernization project, Henley provided design review for constructability and value engineering prior to the start of construction, including complete demolition of the existing building (with the exception of a two-story classroom wing built by Henley in 2008), followed by the construction of 60,000 SF of new school and redevelopment of the site to achieve current stormwater management standards. The project design includes core growth, meeting future occupancy needs of up to 740 students, maximizes program adjacency and flow as well as required teaching and support spaces. Improvements were also made to the exterior with the addition of a full-length student drop-off/pick-up loop, a reconfigured bus loop, allowing for more bus queuing on site, as well as the addition of 85 parking spaces near the main entrance. Wayside Elementary School is now 93,453 SF on 9/26 acres. The building obtained LEED Gold certification.
